In the Puranas, Parvati shapes Ganesha to guard her door. He did not know the guest was his own father, Shiva. Both were doing their duty. Later he walks around his parents: they were his whole world. Big ears, small mouth — listen first.

In the Bhagavata Purana, Krishna is the playful friend of Vrindavan who also faces the cruel king Kansa. He notices who is lost. He dances on the serpent Kaliya until the river is safe. A true friend does not measure gifts.

Prem — The Circle

In later songs of Krishna — like the Gita Govinda — Radha is the one who loves him most. When he hides, she looks. Love is not a contest. The circle has room for every friend. Coming back is love.

Tapas — Still Strength

In the Puranas, Shiva sits on the Himalaya. When a poison rose from the churned ocean, he drank it so the world could live — that is why his throat is blue. He caught the river Ganga in his hair so her fall would be soft. Even a yogi comes home.

Abhaya — Fearless Love

In the Devi Mahatmya, Kali is the Mother’s fierce face — the same love as Parvati, when the village needs courage. Abhaya means “do not be afraid.” She held Raktabija’s seed so copies of fear could not spill. Then she stopped.
